The Har Ki Doon valley is beautiful on its own, but there are even more amazing places to explore nearby. Here are some highlights:

• Marinda Tal (A Small Lake): This pretty little lake is formed by a stream coming from a glacier. It’s about a 2.5 to 3 kilometer walk from Har Ki Doon Trek. Big mountains surround it, some with snow all year round. It’s a nice place to camp.
• Hata Valley (Open Fields with Mountain Views): This valley has big, open fields with views of Hata Peak. The peak is very tall and marks the border between two areas. It’s about a 3 kilometer walk.
• Jaundhar Glacier (A Big Ice Field): This glacier is at the bottom of the Swargarohini mountain. It’s a bit further to walk (about 5 kilometers from Har Ki Doon to a viewpoint, and then another 2-3 kilometers to the glacier itself), but you get amazing views of the mountain and the glacier.
• Devsu Thatch (A Beautiful Meadow): This big meadow is high up by the Supin River. It’s surrounded by forests and has lots of pretty flowers like orchids and poppies. It’s a wonderful place to walk and maybe even camp.
• Villages (Osla and Gangaad): You’ll pass through small mountain villages like Osla and Gangaad. Osla is especially known for its old traditions and friendly people. You can even stay in local homes and try their food. There’s also an old temple in Osla with beautiful wood carvings.
• Plants and Animals: You’ll see lots of different trees like cedar, pine, and oak. You might also see animals like bears and deer, and many kinds of birds. The area is even known for snow leopards (but you probably won’t see one). The red rhododendron flowers (called Burans locally) are especially beautiful.

The Har Ki Doon Trek is not just about the valley itself, but also about the beautiful places you can explore nearby. You’ll see lakes, mountains, glaciers, meadows, villages, plants, and animals. It’s a great experience for nature lovers.
